Balkans first .com company is now expanding to TV media

Balkanmedia starts broadcasting an independent, non-stop, free to air music channel. It will be the first one of its kind for the Balkan area. Broadcast starts on Euteslat Hotbird (13° East) satellite from 01.10.2005, the frequency is 10971H (SR 27500, FEC 3/4). The signal will be available also in some cable networks. Over Internet, wievers with DSL connection, will be able to follow the complete program together with additional interactive and on demand streams. Using internet they can also decide what is happening on the main satellite channel. Even the prgram is heavy commercial "music out of the Balkans" in the prime time, there will be also a space in late night program for experimental alternative music and expressions called "Twilight Zone :-)" chalenging the young creatives to proove their talents. The prime time is reserved for entertainment programming produced at several studios on the Balkans, targeted toward a young 15-35 years old population in a, for the Balkan area, very interactive and dynamic way.

Balkanmedia aims to realise a programming that will be "above political and national" problems of the Balkan area. Respecting the different nations and cultures adressed with this TV experiment, this "1 channel for many nations" should represent the "power of diveristy" where different cultures, religions and the music styles inspired out of it, are not seen as a problem, but as a very rich music content and a "capital" good of our nations.

We will aproach to this mather the very same way we did it with our internet shop - we simpy delliver balkan music wordwide, and we do that in its full colours without further political aims and messages. If there is any political statment to be looked for in this very apolitical mather, we would like to submit this one: "We would like to contribute that our childern do not apear as dead bodies on CNN again". Somehow, even TV broadcasting is new for us, we see it only as a logical step in further development of our company, the spirit will be the same. The TV will be deeply connected with the internet presentation (.tv) and there will be a lot of new innovative aproaches. The ones that know us for years, know that we have been all this years dellivering new solutions and new ways for all kind of chalenges of the music business. But, we are broadcast amateurs, so do not expect too much form as at once, especially because the broadcasting over satellite is a very expenisve experiment. Remember, we never did have so much money as ideas, but quite enough of both for some sucessfull work associtaed with a positive image. We also invite hierwith all performers, the traditional and new media of the Balkan area that do not already have contact with us, especially the ones "outisde" mainstream, to contact us so we can evolve what innovative, cost-neutral ways of cooperation we could achieve.
